Cricketing history will be made on the Isle of Wight next month when Hampshire Cricket brings over a side which is expected to be full-strength to play in their first competitive fixture on the Island for 50 years. And to add to the local interest, the team may include Ventnor’s England star, Danny Briggs and Shanklin seam bowler, David Griffiths.
